Ahneman Kirby acts as the on-call engineering firm for a multitude of Tri-State area municipalities and large contractor organizations. From engineering, to inspections, or consulting; we always deliver the best.

Ahneman Kirby, LLC is the result of a merger between two outstanding firms and traditions: Ahneman Associates started in 1988 by Edward and Thomas G. Ahneman in Greenwich, CT and J.A. Kirby Company started in 1871 by Joseph Andrew Kirby in Port Chester, New York. Joseph Kirby’s legacy includes the Boston Post Road (Rte.1) bridge that spans the Byram River at the “Gateway to New England” – the State of Connecticut Boundary.

- J.A. Kirby’s surveys, sewer designs, road designs, and storm water designs shaped the Village of Port Chester at the end of the 19th century. Many of his maps and designs are in use today and Ahneman Kirby, LLC is the proud steward of Kirby’s records, and continues the J. A. Kirby tradition of time tested civil engineering work.
- Ahneman Associates was a third generation civil engineer company formed by Edward Ahneman Sr.- Ed Sr. was a civil engineer on the team that built the Kensico Dam in North White Plains, the reservoir that acts as New York City’s water supply. He was also a chief engineer overseeing the construction of New York City water supply aqueduct tunnels 5 and 5A which are still in use today.
